The New Bust Increaser

For years, centuries even, woman around the globe have been trying to increase the size of their bust. There are rumours that you can stimulate the breast tissue with massage like the ancient Chinese woman used to and gain half a cup size or drink some herbal tea but seeing as these techniques are probably just be rumour many women in the last ten years have turned to plastic surgery to increase their bust. In the last week a new product has come on the market to assist ladies with smaller busts with out going under the knife, the inflatable bar.

Nowhere near as intrusive, expensive or permanent as breast enlargements, the inflatable bar is not even actually a bra it is air filled ‘pouch’ that you can insert into your bra, Debenhams call it the ‘Natural pump up bra pad’. Basically the shape of a breast implant the pads have a pump button which is squeezed to add air into the pouch or there is a release button which coupled with pressure can be pressed to deflate the pouch. The benefit of the pad is you can adjust the size to what ever you feel comfortable with. There is the option to go big and if you are wearing a top or dress that requires cleavage or even something that needs size to be held up. Alternatively if you are just looking for a small pick me up you can go for half full, to help you fill out that sweater. Realistically this is not a replacement option for breast enlargements but is a option for people who would never consider surgery.

This product reminds me a fair bit of the chicken-fillet bra, which was a stick on bra made of silicone which has one side covered in adhesive that you could supposedly wear instead of a real bra allowing you to wear a backless frock and still have some support. Or there are chicken fillet themselves, silicone pads you can pop in your bra and if touched they are supposed to feel like real boobs. Which leaves me to think the real advantage of the new pads is the adjustable size, but that was until I saw the price, they are available online for a mere £4.00.

The breast debate has for a long time had two distinct sides; those who preach ‘accept yourself as you are’ and those who promote the ‘as long as you’re happy’ approach. I am a fence sitter; I understand wanting to improve your looks but I also see the benefits of being happy with your form the way genetics made it. There are men who argue that push up bras and chicken fillets are misleading with a ‘you don’t get what the pack says’ theory but who listens to them? In this case I am going to make a judgement call and say I am all in favour of a £4.00 bust increaser! I imagine 14 year old late developing girls all over the country are stoked that they can fill out their jumpers and dresses without having to empty the tissue box and they can fix themselves up in the school bathroom without having to go though the embarrassment of explaining their spectacular growth to mum and dad.
